In 1944 Slovakia, when Nazi soldiers invade their village, a mother must protect her six children as her husband flees to join the resistance. Inspired by the true events that shaped my great-grandparents’ lives, Ashes of Courage is an emotionally resonant, grounded WWII historical drama capturing a lesser-known chapter of Central European resistance.
